As I’ve been watching the publishing business over the last year, I’ve kept thinking: what better time than now to get into the book business? So much is changing, so much happening, and the possibilities of doing things new and right are all over the place. The costs of getting books to people are disappearing, with digital distribution, and so the real challenge will be connecting readers & writers. And the web is just fantastic at connection people with things they like. The problem in the established publishing business is all the legacy investment they have in established ways of business.
But new ventures have none of that baggage.
Well, I’m ecstatic to hear that some of my favourite people making noise on the web about books, Kassia Krozser, Kat Meyer, and Kirk Biglione (and one so-far silent partner), have launched a new publishing concern: Quartet Press, with the following core principles:
- Outstanding Book Discovery and Shopping Experience
- Read Quartet Books Wherever and However You Want
- Great Authors Mean Great Books
- Integrating and Empowering the Community of Readers
They’re currently accepting submissions:
Quartet Press is currently accepting queries for all genres of romance fiction, including erotic romance. We will also consider other genre fiction, provided the story contains a strong romantic plot thread. At this time, we are particularly interested in queries for erotic romance and romantic suspense.
