[VIDEO] Wednesday’s Author: Leonard Cohen

The National Film Board of Canada (fairly) recently launched their revamped nfb.ca, with reams of full length films from their collection of ground-breaking documentaries, animation, shorts and other experiments.

Ladies and Gentlement, Mr. Leonard Cohen is a 44-minute documentary, about the pre-rock star Leonard Cohen, poet, novelist, and “very confident young man.”

I’ve heard his new abum & tour are searing.

Mr. Cohen still spends some time in Montreal, I ran into him on St. Laurent street last summer (with a very attractive young woman, of course!), and recognizing him I guess I kind of stared into his eyes, he connected, realized I recognized him, and shyly looked away. It was a very odd moment, and I wonder what will happen next time I see him walking along the street.

It looks like a biopic starring a young Al Pacino.
